Week 4: Anchored in Community and Mission
Day 30 — Staying the Course

Scripture Reading:
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.””
‭‭Joshua‬ ‭24‬:‭15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Devotional Thought
Have you ever finished something meaningful and wondered, “What now?”

Not because it failed—but because you don’t want to lose what’s been growing.

You made it to Day 30—but this isn’t a finish line. It’s more like a starting point.

What you’ve been doing over the last month isn’t about checking spiritual boxes. It’s about learning how to live connected to something deeper and steadier than yourself.

One of the writers in the Bible describes it like this: once you decide to trust Jesus, the invitation is to keep going—to build your life with Him at the center. He compares it to a tree. A tree doesn’t grow strong by trying harder; it grows strong because its roots go deep. When the roots are healthy, growth follows naturally.

Another passage talks about a tree planted near water—steady, nourished, still growing even when seasons change. That’s the picture here. Following Jesus isn’t about being perfect or having it all figured out. It’s about staying connected. Staying grounded. Letting your life draw strength from something real.

There’s also a moment in Scripture where a leader looks at the people around him and says, essentially, “You have to decide what you’re building your life on.” That choice wasn’t about religion—it was about direction.

That same choice is in front of you now. Not a one-time decision, but a daily one:

• To keep walking with Jesus
• To keep showing up in community
• To keep making space for God in real life

You’re not the same person you were 30 days ago. Something has shifted. And the good news is—you don’t have to sustain it on your own. Growth happens as you stay anchored.

This is what life with Jesus looks like. Not dramatic. Not fake. Just steady. Rooted. Moving forward, one day at a time.

Practice for Today
Write a short, honest prayer—just a few sentences—about how you want to keep moving forward with Jesus in this next season of life.

If you’re part of an Anchor Group or have a pastor you trust, let them know you finished the 30 days. You don’t have to do what comes next alone.

Reflection Questions
What’s one simple rhythm or habit you want to keep so you stay grounded and connected moving forward?
