Scripture Reading:

“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭19‬-‭22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Devotional Thought

Have you ever wanted connection, but felt hesitant to trust it?

Most people don’t avoid community because they don’t want it—they avoid it because they’ve been disappointed, misunderstood, or burned before.

For a lot of people, the word church comes with mixed feelings. Maybe you picture a building, an institution, or something you’re not sure you trust yet.

The Bible talks about church in a much simpler way. Church isn’t a place you go—it’s a group of people learning how to follow Jesus together. When you decided to take faith seriously, you didn’t just start a private relationship with God. You stepped into a community.

That matters because growth doesn’t happen in isolation. When life gets busy or hard, it’s easy to drift. Community helps keep you grounded. It’s where you’re encouraged when you’re tired, challenged when you’re stuck, and reminded you’re not doing this alone.

One of the earliest descriptions of church shows people eating together, talking honestly, supporting each other, and showing up consistently. It wasn’t perfect or polished—but it was real. And that kind of community changed lives.

The Bible even uses the image of a house being built, with each person playing a part. You’re not an extra. You’re not a visitor. You belong.

Church won’t always get it right—people are imperfect. But Jesus is steady. And He uses imperfect communities to help people grow, heal, and stay anchored through every season.

Practice for Today

Send a quick message to someone you’ve been walking with in this journey—someone from your group or community—and thank them for being part of your life right now.

Small steps build real connection.

Reflection Questions

How does it change the way you see faith when you realize you belong to a community, not just to God on your own?
