Scripture Reading:

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭16‬-‭17‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭9‬-‭11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Devotional Thought

Have you ever wished you had someone with you—guiding you in real time—when you weren’t sure what to say, how to respond, or what decision to make?

Most of us try to figure life out on our own, hoping experience, instinct, or effort will be enough. But following Jesus was never meant to be a solo journey.

When you said yes to Jesus, something amazing happened: God Himself moved in to live inside you.

The Holy Spirit isn’t just a feeling or a “good vibe.” He’s God—living in your life, guiding you, giving you strength, and helping you grow from the inside out.

Jesus told His followers that the Spirit would be with them—and then in them. That promise is now real for you. You’re never alone. Following Jesus isn’t about trying harder or doing life in your own strength. The Spirit is your helper, your guide, your comfort, your teacher.

He:

• Gives you new desires

• Softens your heart

• Gently points out when you’re off track

• Reminds you of truth

• Empowers you to live differently

Romans 8 says the same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you now. That means your life isn’t defined by your past, your mistakes, or your fears—it’s defined by God’s presence and power in you.

Take a deep breath and let that sink in: God is closer than your own breath.

Practice for Today

Say a simple prayer:

“Holy Spirit, thank You for living in me. Lead me today.”

Notice any sense of peace, guidance, or conviction as you go about your day.
